Chop sticks and spoons feel good as well not cheap plastic. The soup spoon docks on the edge of the bowl, which I like. The chopstick end is pointy. It has everything a ramen bowl requires. What is Melamine?
Melamine is a type of hard plastic created by combining together melamine resin with other strengthening materials.
Is Melamine Safe?
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s Safety and Risk Assessment of melamine concludes that this type of plastic tableware is safe for use. The study confirms that chemicals in melamine will not migrate, or transfer into food products as long as the food is not heated in the melamine tableware at temperatures above 160F
What is the diameter of these bowls? And how tall are they?
The bowls are 9" in diameter and 4" in height.
Are they dishwasher safe?
Yes, they are dishwasher-safe. We would recommend using them in the top rack of your dishwasher.
Are they microwave-safe?
As previously mentioned, melamine can hold food products that range in temperature between -30F to 160F. However, melamine, as a material, should not be used to heat up food in the microwave or oven.
Be cautious of sellers who claim to sell microwave-safe melamine tableware.
Do the chopsticks have nonslip texture?
The pointed tip of the chopstick has a little bit of a "coarse" texture which helps with grabbing food.
